STAR EVENTS
GET INVOLVED IN
FCCLA THROUGH
STAR Events are projects in which Students Take Action with Recognition. There are over 30 events for students to compete in, including projects that focus on: culinary skills, fashion design, advocacy, nutrition, childhood development, and communication, just to name a few. Students work on a STAR Event beginning in September and compete for the first time at the Regional Competition in January. Students must earn at least a 90% and a gold medal to move on to State held in March. At the State Competition, students compete against fellow FCCLA members from across Washington State. At State, FCCLA members must earn gold and place in the top two to move on to Nationals hosted in July.
STAR Events give students the opportunity to develop and demonstrate leadership skills through planning and implementing projects or events that better their school or community, enhance their public speaking skills, and inspire other students!
